Par-tee Card No. 2

I guess I'm on a roll today making and posting two cards!  This is the second card I created for Paulette's block party at Create with TLC.  I fell in love with this image recently when I visited Mo Manning's site.  This image is named "Waiting for the Parade" and the sentiment is from Create with TLC:

I colored this little cutie with my Copic markers and used Basic Grey design paper.  My cardstock is Stampin Up and Georgia Pacific.  I guess I was in a rectangle state of mind when  I made this!

Thanks again for visiting today!

This was fun combining and looking for the images I wanted to use.  I guess kinda like making soup!

One Tree

When I saw this sentiment from Create with TLC, I just knew I had to use it and I had the perfect stamps in mind to use!  I chose this gorgeous set of trees from Heartfelt Creations which I think are so elegant looking.  I decided to keep my style simple and aim for a more masculine look.  Here is my finished creation:

card recipe:
"One Tree" sentiment from Create with TLC, HCPC 3432
"Magnificent Spruce Trees" from Heartfelt Creations,
My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Dilly Dally, SU Always Artichoke CS,
Spellbinders die, burlap from The Funkie Junkie and various distress inks

I had so much fun playing with the distress inks for my sky, sponge daubers and the Inkssentials ink blending tool are perfect for applying the inks.  I also used my Tim Holtz ruler to make the faux stitching around the edges.
I can think of so many different occasions for this card by drawing inspiration from the sentiment for the inside verse:  One prayer, one act of kindness, one kind word...

Thanks for visiting today, I love reading your comments and appreciate all your support!

Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blog Hop

Summer is officially here and we're ready to leap right into July!  The last Tueday of the month is set aside for the monthly Heartfelt Creations Alumni Design Team Blog Hop.  I have used a Heartfelt Creations sympathy stamp and added flowers and leaf flourishes also from Heartfelt Creations.  I kept my design simple (for me).  I love embossing and I think it adds just the right amount of elegance for this card.  If you arrived here from Selma's blog then you are on the right track.  If not, you will want to start at the beginning with Olga's blog so you don't miss any of these beautiful creations!

My card base is Stampin Up Very Vanilla cardstock and I stamped my sentiment, HCPC 3377 on Georgia Pacific cardstock.  The scalloped edge was made with Spellbinders Edgeabilities Classic Scallop dies.  I used Posy Patch Die HCD 701 and the leaf flourish from the Decorative Layered Basket Die HCD 714 to create my flowers.

Your next stop on the hop if Kerry's blog and she has a gorgeous creation to share with you!  Be sure to leave a comment on every blog you visit while you're hopping because one randomly chosen commenter will win a $25 gift certificate to shop at Heartfelt Creations.  You have until Friday, June 29th at midnight EST to leave your comments.  The winner will be announced Saturday, June 30th at noon,  The winner will need to email Emma Lou with "winner of June Alumni Hop" in subject line.  Here is a complete hop list in case you get lost hoppiing:

Twin Baptisms

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  We were certainly busy, one of the highlights of the weekend was  my grandson hitting a home run for his Little League on Saturday, go Weston!  I also want to share two cards I made to celebrate the baptism of twins, Henry and Emma.  I remember when their mother was just a child in our church and now she has children of her own, time sure flies by.

card recipe:
Georgia Pacific cardstock, Making Memories design paper
Sizzix embossing folder, Spellbinders Floral Ovals, Viva Decor Pearl Pen
Petal Cross digi retired from Sugar Creek Hollow, distress inks, Copic markers

With twins, you can't make just one card!  I found this beautiful sentiment on the internet but could not find the author, if anyone knows who it is please let me know so I can give credit!

Happy Birthday!

Today I'd like to share with you a birthday card I made for my brother-in-law.  We drove to Richmond yesterday so we could attend his "surprise" party, his girls had to tell him because he gets a little "grouchy" if you spring a surprise on him, and he already had a bizillion things planned for Saturday.

I totally fell in love with my Create with TLC design team mate's creation and I had to CASE this for my card!  Thank you Carla, you make the most gorgeous cards ever!  You can view Carla's card on her blog here.  I went to Mo's and purchased the image and I already had the sentiment from TLC.

card recipe:
My Mind's Eye design paper, SU and Georgia Pacific cardstock
Copic markers, distress inks, jute, burlap from The Funkie Junkie
Spellbinders dies

My card is just a tad different, but the idea still came from Carla.  I love the sentiment "Inside every older person is a younger person wondering what happened?"  I can certainly identify with this too!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.  Thanks for visiting, I love reading your comments and
appreciate all your support!

Bless Your Little Heart

Well, we are having another hot and sweltering day in the South,  I shouldn't complain though with all the extremely hot weather the rest of the country has had this week.  We have been in the nineties and the grandchildren have been in the pool all week!  We're off to a birthday party today but I wanted to share a card I made today.

I just love this new image from Create with TLC.   Down South if we say "Bless Your Heart" that sometimes means we can't find anything nice to say, or sometimes we really mean it, LOL! Here is my vintage creation:

card recipe:
My Mind's Eye Lost and Found, Sunshine Collection
Cheery Lynn  and Spellbinders dies, Copic Markers, Georgia Pacific and PTI cardstock

I just fell in love with this vintage image and of course this sentiment!  You can find this image here.

Stay cool and enjoy your weekend!  I love reading your comments and I appreciate all your support.

Worries Away!

Today I have a summery card to show you featuring a digi set from Create with TLC.  I just fell in love with the image of the cute little girl and boy drifting around in the ocean.  They do not seem to have a worry in the world and are having so much fun!

You can find this new digi set here.  I used My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose collection paired with Georgia Pacific and Stampin Up cardstock.  I colored my image with Copic markers and sponged "Peacock Feathers" distress ink around the edges and on the ocean.  I also used a Viva Decor Pearl Pen  to highlight the waves.

Thanks for visiting, I love reading your comments and appreciate all your support!

My blog post today is in memory of Lisa Lynne Wright.  I am joining my Alumni Team members from Heartfelt Creations in a dedication blog hop in remembrance of our dear team sister.  I'd like to believe that sometime this week the ring-a-ling of a tiny bell was heard as another angel received her wings.  My prayers and sympathy go out to her family and friends.  So Lisa Lynne, here is my card of sympathy and hope:

HFC 3366 and HFC 3321

Summertime

"Summertime...and the living is easy..."  this was one of my favorite songs, one that I absolutely could relate to.  I can remember the last few days of school just waiting for Summer to officially begin and freedom!  I loved nothing better than heading to the beach as a teen and working on my tan, of course this is a "no no" now!  Now I avoid the beach from June to September - far too many tourists.  I love working in my flower beds, smelling freshly mown grass and watching my grandchildren splash in the pool.

To celebrate "Summertime", I have a delightful Sara Kay stamped card to share with you today.  Create with TLC's sentiment was just perfect:
Bernadette Admiring Her Flowers

I pulled out my Prismacolor pencils to color Bernadette and chose Basic Grey's Lemonade design paper.  I cut out my card shape with my Grand Calibur and used Spellbinders dies for all my layers and sentiment.

Bath Time!

I love this digi entitled "Vertie Bath" from Studio 313.  So...I was excited when I saw this sentiment Paulette created available here at Create with TLC!  If you hurry you may still get it for free.  Here is my card I created:

I used the pre-colored "Vertie" for my card this time and used an embossing folder with"bubbles".  The flowers are from Wild Orchid and the leaves from Marianne dies.  I did distress the edges of my image and LOL, I just discovered the "holes" on my Tim Holtz ruler - they are great for paper piercing!

Have a great day and thanks for visiting, I love reading your comments and appreciate all your support!

Create with TLC Monday

I've been away from my craft room and blog quite a bit lately.  Summer is in full swing around my house and we've been going to the grandchildren's ball games and supervising swimming in the pool.  I have missed crafting so I spent some time over the weekend creating a few cards to share with you this week.  Paulette, owner of Create with TLC has been feverishly adding items to her new store and here is the first card I would like to share with you this week:
Challenges entered:
Inspire Me Fridays - anything goes
Our Creative Corner - favorite Tim Holtz technique

I just love this sentiment and thought it would go great with this Sugar Nellie image, Purrfect Playmates.  I wanted to try my hand at something different, so I embossed and inked a Sizzix folder and then used a window diecut from Spellbinders/Our Daily Bread designs.  I cut out my sentiment with a Spellbinders die also.  I added diecut grass and leaves to heighten the impression of "peeking" through the window from the outside.  My image was colored with Copic markers.
