Tomorrow is the Big Day!

March 1st is the Grand Opening for Sugar Creek Hollow! For every $10 you spend, you get to select a free digi and... you can also register for a $50 gift certificate. This is only for the grand opening so be sure not to miss it!
Okay, how many of us go to bed at night and design in our minds before dropping off to sleep! I saw this mirror image reflecting the teapot one night as I lay tossing and turning. So, I played around with this in my head a little more and this is what the outcome was. I cut out the mirror, teapot, a smaller scaled teapot and the cup. I arranged the small teapot behind the mirror with a piece of vellum. The lace is my tablecloth and the Cuttlebug embossed card stock serves as a table. The teapot, mirror and teacup are all available from Sugar Creek Hollow.
My background paper is from Basic Grey's "Marrakech" collection and makes a perfect backdrop. A prima rose lightly "kissed" with a marker and satin ribbon complete the picture.
Thanks for visiting and hope to see you tomorrow!

And His Name Is Called

Advocate - Lamb of God - The Resurrection and the Life.
Sugar Creek Hollow was asked to sponsor this week's Our Creative Corner Challenge . This is the sketch to follow and one lucky winner will receive $10.00 to purchase at Sugar Creek Hollow, you could be the lucky WINNER!!!
This is the card I designed:
Here is a close-up so you can see all the text:
I used K & Company's "Ancestry" and The Angel Company's "Reese" papers. I printed the image on the Reese paper and used a tearing ruler to obtain the look of "parchment". I then sponged on PTI's Chai ink around the edges to give my image a more aged look, added hardware, flowers, brads, dew drops and ribbon.
Thanks for visiting!
Sugar Creek Hollow is a Tree of Life Ministries to help feed the hungry.

Chicken and Lemonade Anyone?

I'll bet that got your attention! Basic Grey Lemonade, that is and the Stitched Chicken is just one of many digital images available at Sugar Creek Hollow. I knew this would be fun to work with since it is such a playful image. I colored with my Copics and added lots of buttons. I distressed some of my DP and my card stock is from Stamping Up and Papertrey Ink.
I did get to paper piece the little patch on the chicken!
About my card:
Basic Grey "Lemonade" design paper
Stamping Up and PTI card stock, misc. buttons
Copics used: R11, R20, R29, BG15, YG06, YG11, YR21, YR31, Y38

Going Green

This is a recycled card I prepared for our Crafty Critter Challenge Blog on SCS. My original card had a blue Nestie rectangular scallop die behind the image and the coloring on the fairy was different and I used Prismacolor's. Well, I took a look at this again and decided to see what I could do. I removed the image and die, replaced the scallop with a pendant die and recolored the fairy with my Copics. Here is the "before"
And here is the "after":
I don't know what I was thinking when I added the blue, and the colors on the fairy! I like the newest version much better!

Cute Card Thursday, FBW and Primsy Angel

I wanted to enter Primsy Angel in Cute Card Thursday and Flutter By Wednesday's challenges this week. This week's challenge for Cute Card Thursday is entitled "Metal Mania". There must be some metal on the card, in case you cannot see mine in the picture, the metal is a brad in the upper right-hand corner flower. Flutter By Wednesday's challenge required the use of a butterfly or angel.
I just love this little angel from Sugar Creek Hollow, she is so versatile! I decided to use Basic Grey's "Porcelain" collection, but I did sponge some of PTI's vintage chamomile ink over the design paper and the Spellbinder's die cut. I also used buttons and pearl dew drops as well as a ribbon to complete my embellishments.
Copics Used:
YG63, YG95, YG03, Y17, E000, E00, R22, R11, RV42, R0000

Sick Billy

I recently shared a card I created called "Sick Lily". I also purchased the "Sick Billy" digital image from Pink Cat Studio knowing I could get a lot of mileage out of this image also. He's just too adorable to be sick!
I made this card for a sick gentleman in our church and his wife said it made him smile. Now that's what a card is made for! I decided to use primary colors since those are good "guy" colors.
About my card:
DCWV's Nana's Kids design paper
Stamping Up card stock
Martha Stewart punch, Nestability die, Design Runner sentiment
Copics used: C7, BV23, E000, E00, E17, E31, E33, E35, R11, R29, R59, YG0000, G14, Y17, YG06, B0000, B45, B93, B95

Sick Lily

Just a simple card today! I made this for a dear friend of mine who is recovering from back surgery. I purchased this digital image from Pink Cat Studio a while back, knowing that it would be put to good use.
I think this image is so cute that adults and children will get a kick out of this and maybe even a little smile!

Martha Stewart punch, tag punch

Worshipful Barn Swallow

Today I'd like to share a card I made with a fabulous digital image from Sugar Creek Hollow. Mark your calendars and be sure not to miss the grand opening on March 1st! My card is also eligible for entry in Mojo Monday challenge 126. They had a great sketch to follow for this week's challenge.
Here is a close up:
I used Basic Grey's Wisteria Collection and Stamping Up card stock. My sentiment was computer generated and I cut it and my scallop out with Nestability dies. I also cut out my Barn Swallow and background with Nestabilities. A satin ribbon and dewdrops were the final touch.
Copics used:
B95, B93, B23, B0000, E39, E35, E33, E31, C00, C3, R22

Cross and Dove

I love all the crosses that Tracy, the owner of Sugar Creek Hollow, has created and this one seems to be made especially for this verse. I paired the two together and cut out with a Spellbinder's die. I then printed my Bamboo Frame on gold card stock to add behind my cross.
I had some yummy DCWV design paper, "La Creme" that I used. This has flocking on it as do several other designs that come in this paper pad. I used Copics to color my cross and highlight the dove. I then painted Shimmerz "Angel Wings" on the dove and "Candlelight" around the cross. The Copics I used are: E31, E33, Y23, YR21, C1 and C00
I plan to make a few more of these for Easter cards. Thanks for visiting!

Vintage Dressmaker Form and Accessories

I've been wanting to create a card with this dressmaker form from Sugar Creek Hollow and after deciding to enter the Midnight Madness Challenge, I knew exactly what I wanted to make. I first decided to pair this image with the bonnet and scissors image also from SCH.
I painted my bonnet with Luminarte H20's and then sponged on some sepia distressed ink. The dressmaker form and scissors were colored with Copics. My design paper is "Ancestry" from K and Company and the background DP is from Cosmo Cricket. I liked the buttons in the MM sketch challenge, but decided to only use them in the upper right-hand corner. A peach satin ribbon, dewdrops and corners cut with a Cuttlebug die complete my design.
Copics:
E37, E33, E31, E00, C1, Y28

Sugar Creek Hollow Vintage Butterfly

Sugar Creek Hollow just keeps adding new and wonderful images to their store. Now the best thing about this butterfly is that right now it is listed on the site as a "freebie"! Here is my design:
The design papers I used are My Mind's Eye "29th St. Market", K & Co.'s "Addison Swirl" and "Classic K Charlotte". I distressed the paper and also used some distress inks to enhance the vintage look. I added flowers with a leafy border I cut with my Wizard. Lace, satin ribbon and a beaded hatpin complete "the look". I colored my butterfly with Copic markers and added Shimmerz "candelight" to the wings to give them a glow.
Copics: R0000, R02, R11, YR02, G0000

Tilda with Lamb

I haven't posted a Tilda card in quite some time. This is Tilda with Lamb and I created this for a challenge at "Just Magnolias" and "Friday Sketchers" also entered in the "I Love Digi Challenge Blog". The challenge at Just Magnolias is to create a card using a Magnolia image and the theme "love". The challenge at Friday Sketchers is to follow a sketch that is provided.
This little lamb is so adorable and is looking up at Tilda with such a loving expression.
About my card:
K & Co. "Smitten Heart Stripe" & DCWV design paper

Copics: E000, E00, E29, 25, E17, YR21, R22, R20, R11, R0000, C00, C1

Be Still

I needed a sympathy card for a dear choir member who recently lost her husband. I just love Sweet'n Sassy Stamp's "Be Still". The deer by the stream reminds me of the 23rd Psalm and what a comfort this is.
My design paper is K & Company's "Ancestry" series. My dies were all cut with my Wizard and I used dew drops to embellish. I also used various Copic markers but I did not have time to write these down since this card had to be ready tonight for all our choir members to sign.

Michelle Perkett Studio Challenge 16 - Blues and Greens

I started this card this morning and kept having to stop and run errands and make it to appointments. Finally I can show you my completed project. Michelle's challenge this week was to create a card using blues and greens. I always kind of balk at color restrictions, but after I got going it was fun using all different shades of greens and blues. I pulled out my trusty Cuttlebug and embossed my cardstock, then cut out a die with my Wizard.
My image is "Sisters of Spring" and I colored with Copic markers and Luminart paint. What fun!
Almost forgot! I used design paper from DCWV and Prima flowers.

Tractor Riley

I actually made this for a birthday card for my son. He is a farmer and spends most of his days just like Riley below. I figured this would "speak" to him better than any other image I could use. So since this was a male card, no "foo foo" stuff. I used my Martha Stewart fence punch and buttons stringed with jute as my only embellishments. My design paper is from DCWV's "Safari Collection" and my card stock from Canson.
Copics:
C7, C5, C1, C00, YR21, Y23, Y21, Y17, R59, R29 R11, E35, E33, E31, E25

Soft Pencil Challenge 18

This week's challenge a Soft Pencil was a fun one! We had to use 3 of an item, 2 of an item and 1 of an item. I chose 3 butterflies, 2 buttons and 1 flower. My darling image is Michu and his happy flowers. Not very much design paper this time, the little bit I used is from Basic Grey's "Lemonade" collection. My cardstock is from Stamping Up. I used dew drops to enhance Michu and I also used Shimmerz for the background around Michu. My sentiment is from my Xyron Design Runner, "Flowers" card.
Copics: YG0000, YG00, YG03, YG23, YR21, Y21, Y17, R32, R22, R20, R11

Kraftin Kimmie Challenge #16

Time to post my entry for this week's Kraftin Kimmie Challenge. I chose "Daisy Doodle" for my entry. She is just the most adorable doggie! This week we had to "Be a Little Ripper". So, I made a card and tore and distressed! Here is my entry:
On my distressed and torn edges, I sponged on sepia distressed ink. My design paper is from DCWV's "Safari Chic". I added a ribbon and dew drops for embellishments.

Friday Sketchers #88

Here is the card I created to play in this week's Friday Sketchers Challenge. I decided to ink up one of my Magnolia Tilda's for this one. We had to follow a sketch and I must say, this had quite a few elements!
I used DCWV's "Nana's Nursery" design paper and Stamping Up cardstock. Here is a list of the Copics I used:
RV0000, R0000, R22, R20, R11, E000, E00, E31, E33, E35, YG0000, YG06, YG41, BG34, Y23, YR00, YR21, YR31

Twisted Thursday Challenge #42 - Happy Birthday S2G!

S2G (Shirley's 2 Girls) is celebrating their 1st birthday! They will be celebrating the entire month of February. Their challenge this week is to create a card using one of their stamps and to use the word "party", "birthday" or "celebrate". I chose their digital image, "desserts". It seems like whenever we have a birthday or celebration, there is always lots of food, especially desserts!
It's getting late, so I'm not going to list my Copic markers this time. I did use Basic Grey's "Nook and Pantry" collection for my design paper, even the little cupcake flowers are from this design. I used my nesties and an EK Success border punch to cut out my dies and border. My card stock is from Canson.
"Happy birthday" S2G and thanks to everyone for visiting!

Sugar Creek Hollow Preview Week!

I'm so excited to announce this is preview week at Sugar Creek Hollow all week! The design team was given 3 images and asked to make a card using all of these. We are sharing these with you this week as we introduce everyone on the team. Words cannot express how thrilled I was when Tracy contacted me and invited me to be a member of the team. First of all, this is a special team of christian women and I feel so blessed and inspired to be yoked with these dynamic ladies. And secondly, all the proceeds go to a ministry at Tracy's church to feed the homeless. So whenever I create cards to share her images, I feel like I'm a little part of her ministry and how special is it to do something you love and honor God at the same time! Here is the first quilt card I created using Webster's Pages design paper:
I just had to create one more, this time with Basic Grey's "Patchwork Quilt" from the Urban Prairie collection:
Here's a close up so you can see the cute little "Quilt Till You Wilt" sentiment, I adhered mine to a button.
You should see what the other DT members created! Please hop on over to Donna and Dani's blogs to see their creations. If this is your first visit, you can still hop back to Joseline's blog and start at the beginning so you don't miss a thing!
Thanks for visiting and don't forget Sugar Creek Hollow's grand opening on March 1st! The store is open for preorders now and there are prizes to be won if you sign up to be a follower!

Pixie Dust Studio Challenge #7, Decorative Border

This is the card I created today for this week's Pixie Dust Studio challenge. We had to create a card with a decorative border. Kathy has a brand new collection called "Wild Flowers". I chose Zee the Zebra for my entry. Isn't this just the cutest zebra ever?
This was a lot of fun and my chance to go "wild" in creating this.
About my card:
DCWV's Nana's Kids Collection
SU and Canson cardstock embossed with Cuttlebug
ball fringe
Copics: B32, B23, B6, B0000, YR00, Yg03, YG06, YG0000

Primsy Angel

I hope everyone had a glorious weekend! And what a weekend it was, my daughter as well as countless others experienced "snowmageddon". I kept busy yesterday working on creations for Sugar Creek Hollow. This is our preliminary preview week and members of our design team will be introduced on the store website every day. So to celebrate getting closer to our grand opening on March 1st, I want to share "Primsy Angel". (Note: I edited this post to add my picture back, seems Blogger does not want to display my original pic below - just a "?").
Isn't she just precious? I paper pieced her and added a few lavender shades with my Copic markers, as well as facial colors. I wanted a vintage look so I used distressed inked paper and also distressed the edges of my purple SU card stock. I also used jute for my buttons and laced it around my punched layer of card stock.
Thanks for visiting today and make sure you take time to visit Sugar Creek Hollow this week!
