Mojo Monday

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. We were hit with a winter storm, but what good weather for crafting! I'd like to share with you my card for Mojo Monday 123. That's a lot of challenges! This is actually the first time I have entered this challenge. The rules were to design a card with a supplied sketch. I chose "Chelsea" from The Greeting Farm:
I had some bright and cheery design paper with paisleys and of course I had to emboss my card stock with paisleys. This kind of melts the winter time blues.
About my card:
Making Memories "Simply Fabulous" design paper
SU card stock
Prima hydrangea and Martha Stewart punched hydrangeas
Dew drops, flower jewelry, green stickles
Copics: E000, E00, R11, R20, R22, E13, E18, E19, Y38, YG0000

Sugar Creek Hollow

I am so Excited to be able to share this card with you today!!! The Sugar Creek Hollow Design Team and I have been working hard behind the scene creating cards to share with you for the Grand Opening. We couldn't resist holding back!! We want to share with you just a preview of what is to come.
Spring Flourish
This is a lovely vintage design, just one of many. I think the design paper from Laura Ashley is a perfect background for this beautiful flourish of flowers. I added a flourished label, also available from Sugar Creek Hollow. I used Prismacolor Pencils and chalk to color my designs. To achieve more of a vintage look, I added die cut embellishments courtesy of Spellbinders. A satin ribbon completes my card.

Pixie Dust Studio, Buster and Wink

This digi stamp from Pixie Dust Studio really caught my eye! This is just one of the cutest digi images I have seen. This will be perfect for my grandson's birthday cards. I knew as soon as I purchased this what design paper I would use. DCWV "All About the Boys" has as you can see, a design in their collection with airplanes on it. Isn't this just too perfect?
I wanted a banner to be towed by the plane to display my sentiment "Dare to dream". I did not have one, so I designed one myself and printed the sentiment with my Design Runner. The stars were a must since they were on the DP and were cut with my Creative Memories star punch.

Butterfly Fairy

Today I decided to create a card I could use in two different challenges. The layout and digi stamp is from Michelle Perkett Studios and we had to follow a sketch. This is her last challenge (challenge no. 12) on Paper Craft Planet since she now has her own challenge blog. I think I used everything but the kitchen sink on this card. I'm not sure about the design paper, I think it's from Dovecraft but I lost the label so I can't be sure. Anyway, the colors are just so rich and I don't usually use green and purple together so I thought I'd give it a shot!
I'm also entering this card in Flutter By Wednesday Challenge #92. The criteria was to use a butterfly, fairy or angel. Well, I have a Butterfly Fairy and lots of butterflies.
About my card:
Butterfly Fairy stamp from Michelle Perkett Studios

Sugar Creek Hollow Creation

I wanted to make another creation from Sugar Creek Hollow. This time I decided to alter an item. I'm really excited about the *T mailboxes this year. These are probably old news to a lot of you, but I've really had a great time decorating these for Valentine's Day. I followed a tutorial by Emily Giovanni. I cut my design paper 4"x12" and allowed for a 1/2" hole punched where the flag is located. Both ends of the mailbox are removable so I traced around them with the same DP. I decided to cover the flag and stem and add some Martha Stewart punched hearts. The "Forever" sentiment from Sugar Creek Hollow was cut with a Nestability die and I colored the edge with a Krylon gold leafing pen. The outer edge of the mailbox end pieces are covered with 1/4" ribbon.
Supplies:
Basic Grey Bittersweet
Prima mini roses
Dewdrops
Krylon gold leafing pen
Martha Stewart punches

Pixie Pie!

I just discovered the cutest image from Pixie Dust Studio, "Pixie Pie" and she is a freebie right now. I thought she would be such a cutie for some Valentine cards, I just love the "attitude"! I know this will come as a shock, but I did not use my Copics to color her - I used my Prismacolor Pencils. I have seen some very amazing art work done with Prisma's and you can either color light or go for a deeper, richer color. Here is my card:
I decided to go all pink for this card, one of my favorite colors for creating girlie cards.
About my card:
Design paper - Bittersweet by Basic Grey
Card stock - Stamping Up
Hearts - Nestabilities

Gift Card

I needed a gift card holder in a hurry for a birthday card I had previously made with Lockhart's "Cupcakes in the Window" (for once I had the perfect one on hand!). First, I must give credit to Jenn Balcer. I read her tutorial here on Splitcoaststampers and CASE'd part of it. Here are pictures of my card and matching gift card holder:
I chose a pattern from Basic Grey's "Wisteria" collection and cut pieces to fit the outside of the holder between the scored lines. I did not have a coin envelope, so I improvised by cutting a clasp envelope 2 5/8"W x 4 1/8" L at the base of the envelope measuring from the outer adhered edge. I glued the one open side of my coin envelope with adhesive. I then used a SU punch to notch the open edge of the envelope. Then I adhered the patterned paper to the 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" CS and glued this to the outside of the coin envelope. Next, I glued the coin envelope to the inside of my largest strip of CS.
I glued a button securely to the outside edge of the CS. The holder closes by tucking the opposite end under the button. Here is a picture of the decorated coin holder:
All you have to do next is slip the gift card inside. Another alternative would be to glue the gift card holder directly inside your card. This was quick and easy, now that's something we all need once in a while!
Thanks for visiting and if you need further clarification please don't hesitate to ask!

SoftPencil Challenge 14

I'd like to show you my entry for this week's Softpencil challenge. This week we were to create a card using red, olive green and cream/ivory. I used two of Elizabeth's new Valentine digis, "You're My Valentine" and "A Lovely Couple". I started out with one idea in mind but the card kept changing. If I did not know better, I would think sometimes they develop their own character in the creation process.
My card stock and polka dot design paper is from SU. My other design paper is from my stash. I created my hearts with a Nestability set and my "flower" was created with a Martha Stewart punch and decorated with a Prima Stud.
Copic markers were my choice for coloring using: R21, R37, YR21, Y17, Y0000, YG03, YG63, YG67, , E35, E33, E31, E00, R20 and C1. I did use some SU chalk to color the "You're My Valentine" heart.

Sophie G Moose Thank You

This is my first card using Sophie G Moose. I'm new to the Riley/Sophie G Moose stamps. A precious friend of mine gave me a Christmas present I will treasure forever, a crocheted Scripture Afghan. I wanted to find the perfect thank you card to give to her. When I saw this image, I knew it was perfect!
I used SU print pack for my design paper and also for the coordinating MS floral lace borders. I added the ball fringe for some pizazz. Copic markers were my choice for coloring using: R20, R21, R37, E00, E31, E33, E35, YG03, YG63, YG67, Y0000, Y17, YR21 and C1.

Crafty Critter Challenge #16

This week's Crafty Critter Blog Group challenge was to create a Valentine card using only the colors pink, red, white and black (only as an accent, not a color).
I used a Magnolia Tilda I purchased last year for Valentine cards - I love the little tag she is holding because it is perfect for a sentiment. The sentiment "be mine" was printed with my Xyron Design Runner. I used DCWV's Sweet Collection and a SU print pack for the other design papers (courtesy of my blog group). My Valentine heart was cut out with my "Nestie" heart set. Black accents were made with an EK Success border punch.
This is the list of Copic colors I used: R22, R20, R11, RV0000, E000, E00, E39, E35, E31 and YR21.

Shirleys2Girls Challenge #38

While I"m on a roll today, I decided to post my challenge card for Shirley's 2 Girls. My entry for this week followed a sketch and had to include hearts as the "twist". I may have gotten carried away with all my hearts, but this was loads of fun! I used digi "In the Air".
I also used a heart digi from Verve. My DP is DCWV's Sweet Collection. I cut an additional heart with my nesties for my sentiment. I used the following Copics: E39, E35, E31, E00, E000, Yr00, Y17, R59, R37, R33, R29, R22, R20 and R11.

Flutterby Wednesday Challenge

I can't believe I am actually participating in my second Flutterby Wednesday Challenge! This is challenge #91. The theme is supposed to be "new". This is a new image I just purchased from Michelle Perkett and I just adore "Forest Fairy". Luckily, I was able to also submit this for Michelle's monochromatic challenge.
I used fabric behind my image and then mounted this on card stock which I punched with a Martha Stewart border punch. I then added lace around the bottom of her gown and then added a wisp of tulle with a beaded stickpin.
I used the following Copics: B0000, B00, B02, B12 and B93.
